Due to the genocide in Cambodia that occured mere decades ago, Cambodians have still not fully recovered mentally and economically. Therefore, TASSEL is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing rural Cambodians with resources to increase their standard of living. This includes a proper English education, as well as food, clothing and medicine. The South Pasadena branch of TASSEL is the largest in the world with 106 English teachers and fundraisers. Members teach English through videochat services which connect us to Cambodian classrooms, as well as through editing Cambodian students' essays on Google docs. Another goal of our branch is to raise as much money as possible to buy resources that Cambodians lack.
The South Pasadena TASSEL Benefit strives to bring together members of our community to raise awareness and funds for this cause. This Benefit will take place in Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena. Please join us for a night of music, food and fun on the night of May 20th!
